Get Usher and Nicki Minaj Out Of My Head!
Someone help me, this song is too catchy and seductive, it really won’t leave my head. This, and Fantasia’s “Bittersweet” that is. While I’m at it, Nicki Minaj’s “Your Love” is also nice.

Remembering How I Looked At You / Thinking Of How You Looked At Me
Today (err…yesterday, Saturday) was my best friend Sara’s 22nd birthday. This post is in honor of her. She, her best friend Brian, her sister and her sister’s boyfriend and I all went down to Fells Point for a night on the town. Her sister and her sister’s boyfriend were MIA most of the night because of parking difficulties, whilst Sara, Brian, and I had a great time gallivanting around the drunken promenade. Many good times were had, many laughs shared, many drinks shared, and many stories told. I had a special moment when I stood in on a dock and decided to get up from sitting on the side of the dock, go to the center of the dock, and spin around my arms wide open. I remembered Mary Tyler Moore amongst many things, like being a free bird, a little tornado of leaves swirling, a child playing, and the like. I wondered how Sara and Brian saw me, and I wondered how I saw myself. When I finished the first crescendo, I looked over and knew how happy my spontaneous action had made them. I saw how appreciate and humorous they found me.
Later on that night, when Sara’s sister Jeanna had picked us up, we had a long talk on family life, social interactions, romance and sexual matters, etc. and I had another special moment. I came to the question of why identify with any sexual orientation? What if preference doesn’t answer the question of ‘What sexual orientation do you identify with, if any?’ People don’t seem to like or expect the ‘if any.’ I came to a wonderful response I’ve heard many people use but never cared much for: “I like who I like.” I thought about all the music I’ve been listening to, and all the people Sara and I had seen throughout the night, and was forced to agree with Jeanna and Brian when they agreed that “It’s really not as complicated as they’re making things.” Sara said when I got in the car that two years ago on my birthday, I said turning 21 was just another day like any other. That’s a way of me saying ‘It is what it is.’
When it comes to finding a special person attractive on the street and pointing him/her out versus seeing someone attractive and desiring to be with that person for a date or love affair, it is what it is: A desire, a thought, a reaction. Why try to categorize something with a specific term that doesn’t do human interaction justice? When liking someone is not within the boundaries of ‘preference,’ why limit yourself to a term? If I like a girl who is one in a million among all the guys out there, should the term ‘gay’ restrict or confront me? Most people would be deterred by ‘oh he’s gay.’ And if I use the term ‘bisexual,’ but I am attracted to more men than women at this point in my life, should I identify as ‘gay’ simply because I prefer more men than women? What if it is the other way around, and I see a guy I like but identify as ‘straight,’ then wouldn’t that restrict me as well? The conclusion I’m reaching is that since I am concerned about terminology based on the concept of ‘gay’ or ‘straight’ translating in absolutes instead of ‘preference,’ as well as the concept of ‘bisexual’ alienating or confusing others (because it is a minority within the LGBT minority), these terms can easily separate a specific incident of attraction from general attractions, thus alienating the purpose of terms all in all.
When the night ended and I came home, I had visited Jeanna’s place, enjoyed jokes with everyone, enjoyed a really cute little black dog that wheezed when it was excited (just like me!) and had rode up a few roads to my house that I hadn’t seen for years. I remembered a lot from the past and got to reminisce. Of people I’ve been close to, people I’ve barely known, and places that changed too. I also was able to look forward to the future and hope for the best. I’ve been doing a lot of that these last few days: being so concerned and troubled only to find myself optimistic, enthusiastic, and this time not naive and the future. To the honorable tomorrow! Cheers! Prost!
Bittersweet
Ball bounces up, hits a peak, bounces back down, and bounces up again, back down, eventually settling down. Boy was that fun!
So Fantasia, one of my favorite music artists, has released a new single for her new album “Back to Me” and I’m of course searching for songs so I can grab the album when it comes out on the 24th. Here’s the first single!

Love Never Dies
Like time it sticks,
Story in my head,
Read on little man.
Like an echo,
Like a whisper,
Opinions and Actions.
Look back friend,
Look forward,
Look back.
